hello everyone, today I’m going to giving you a complete leopard gecko  care guide. Everything you need to
know when first getting a leopard gecko so let’s get straight to it!

(Space)

They don’t take up much space so all they need to thrive is a 20 gallon long aquarium or, a medium low EXO
Terra which is the 24 x 18 x 12. When getting a 20 gallon long aquarium you also need to get a lid. That’ll
bring your total to at least $40 with the tank and lid together. The exo terra is usually about $95-$130

(Heating)

They need Belly heat so get a 20 gallon heat mat from zoo-med or I power. It’s also best to get a thermostat
with a temperature probe. This is to regulate the heat and check what temperature it is. heat mats are
usually $13-$30 

(inside the tank)

• substrate
• tile
• Paper towel
• kitchen cabinet liner
• DO NOT USE SAND,CALCI SAND, WALNUT SHELLS, ROCKS, OR WOOD CHIPS! 
• These will all cause impaction which can kill your gecko.
• decor
• A minimum of three hides
• Warm hide, cool hide, humid hide
• A warm hide is any hide above the heat mat, the cool hide is any hide on the 
• opposite side of the tank, and the humid hide is a damp hide where they can go to shed.
• A water bowl and a worm dish

(Diet)

Leopard geckos are strictly insectivores. This means they only eat insects.Their main diet should consist of
crickets and mealworms. Dubias are also really good for your gecko. These insects must be dusted with
supplements and vitamins and gut loaded.Gut loading is when you feed your insects fruits and vegetables
24 hours before you feed your gecko. this is to ensure your geckos getting the most nutrients possibly can from
the insect.

(Supplementing)

Here’s Where a lot of controversy lies. "geckos don’t need them." But I’m here to tell you that this is actually
detrimental. This is very important part of your geckos diet and well-being. You’re going to need a minimum of
two supplements. You need calcium with D3 and a calcium without D3. If your gecko does not get enough
calcium they might end up with something called metabolic bone disease. This is when the geckos bones lack of
calcium to the point where they start to deform.

I will say I’ve spent about $20 on all of the calcium and vitamins that I need and I’ve had it for a year. I have
three geckos so that means it’s a lot of calcium being dusted. Trust me once you buy it it’ll last you a very long
time. Depending where you live it can get a bit pricey but if you go to chewy.com, Amazon, or even just a mom
and pop shop you could get it for a good price.
