Meditation Interrupted by Birth of Leopard Gecko's Eggs

It's 8am, and maybe I did start my morning routine too late. Well, it's not a routine actually because I despise routines. But I like to start my day alone, with a cup of tea or coffee. Maybe read a chapter from something calming. More recently I've been pulled into a group of people who are meditating (on Whatsapp).

I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to stop the jabber in my mind long enough to meditate. I don't even know what meditating really involves. I just follow what they say to do. It feels like I'm headed in the right direction but ANYWAYS...

This morning, before I had a chance to even close my eyes to begin. Talia and Zo (our Spaniel mutt crazy dog) comes running into my (I'd like to call it my meditation room). The dog now seems to think he's a show horse. He is galloping ahead of her. He leaps onto the couch where I am trying to meditate. From there, he gallops or leaps over my lap and lands directly onto my phone. Knocks everything down from the couch. Right behind him is Talia.
She has something in her hand but I can't see. She's exclaiming that it's an egg. I don't know how she would have an egg because she didn't come from the kitchen.
So apparently, this is her leopard gecko's egg and she is beyond excited. Meanwhile I now add fear and anxiety into my morning meditation. Will the egg drop and land in my lap. Will the dog knock over my tea? What else is on the egg? I'm journaling my fears so that I can understand them better.

I mentioned that I was in the middle of a meditation attempt, and I'd like to see the egg later. Talia left and ran off to go show her dad this apparent miracle. Meanwhile, I tried my best to resume my meditation. I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and listen to the faint music. Trying my best to clear my mind....what is that noise...it sounds like...licking? It's definitely a consistent pattern of licking. I open one eye--determined to try to keep in my meditation. But No. The dog never left. Even worse, he found a nice and cozy spot in my meditation room, and began his licking routine (as if he even EVER tries to clean himself). This was all very suspicious to me. So I asked him to leave. He left. He wasn't very happy.

So here's MY account of the birth day of my daughter's leopard gecko. I think it's the gecko named Mango that birthed the egg. I could be wrong. I did eventually go to check on the egg--but I couldn't see it. Why? Well my dears, that's a WHOLE NOTHER story that you will not want to miss out on. Until next time....
